West coast gets the pow this week
Summary
The current weather pattern, with cooler and snowier weather along the west coast, will last for about one more week, through early March, so get ready for multiple powder days, especially in California where they are due for a big storm!
Short Term Forecast
All of the powder action will once again be in the west this week, and more specifically, mostly along the west coast.
The snow forecast through Friday, March 2nd shows multiple feet along the coast, with the highest amounts likely falling in California with powder days on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
During the upcoming weekend, the storminess along the west coast may push east and bring more snow to the Rockies from Utah to Colorado.
If you haven’t hit powder yet this season, or you just want more, the west coast will be a great place to be this week!
Extended Forecast
The weather pattern during late February through the first few days of March will look like this. Colder and stormier weather along the west coast with warmer weather east of the Rockies.
We will see a change in the pattern as we get to March 5-9 as it appears that a more zonal (west-to-east) flow will set up. This may bring chances for cooler air back to the east coast, and will also mean that the west will see more dry days between storms (rather than the more frequent storms we’ve seen during most of February).
