Pattern Favors the East with Snow Showers & Chilly Temperatures
Summary
A cold airmass will remain over the East this week with frequent snow showers for the Great Lakes and New England. A more widespread snow event is also expected later in the week. The West will be quiet this week with dry conditions and warmer temperatures. Storms will impact Northern BC and Alaska but rain

The East will remain in a favorable pattern this week with cold temperatures to support snowmaking, while portions of the Great Lakes will see frequent shots of natural snow that will add up to respectable totals over time. Lake effect snow showers will be common, but a storm with more widespread snowfall is also expected on Wednesday-Thursday.
Forecast for Mon (Dec 2) to Tue (Dec 3):
Snow showers will continue across the Great Lakes and Western New England, while further south, a minor disturbance will bring flurries to the Southern Appalachians. Storms will impact Northern BC and Southeast Alaska, but warmer air will also arrive, resulting in high snow levels and a transition to rain for some ski areas.
Forecast for Wed (Dec 4) to Thu (Dec 5):
A storm will move across the East with more widespread snow for the Great Lakes, Northern Mid-Atlantic, and New England. In the West, a weak storm will reach the Northwest with light snow and rain showers for Southern British Columbia and the far Northern U.S. Rockies. The Cascades in Washington will see rain up to ski resort summits.
Forecast for Fri (Dec 6) to Sat (Dec 7):
A stronger but warmer storm will reach the Northwest with high snow levels and rain falling at many ski resorts, even in the interior regions. Heavy/wet snow will be confined to higher terrain in British Columbia. More snow showers can be expected in the East, favoring the Great Lakes and Western New England once again.

Outlook for Sun (Dec 8) to Thu (Dec 12):
High pressure will weaken somewhat across the West, allowing more storms to push into the Northwest with a mix of snow and rain depending on elevation due to above-average temperatures. The East will remain in an unsettled pattern with a gradual warming trend. Snow chances will continue to favor the Great Lakes and New England.
