Update

Monday was a cloudy, windy, and cold day with temperatures topping out around 10F.

On Monday we saw a few snow showers, and then on Monday night, a fast-moving wave of energy on the backside of the previous storm dropped about two inches of snow (via the snow stake camera) between midnight and sunrise Tuesday.

So, now on Tuesday morning, you’ll find a bit of new snow to freshen the slopes. Morning clouds will keep the temperature chilly (10F at the base and 0F at the summit), though, for the rest of Tuesday, the clouds will clear, the sun will shine, the winds will be light, and the temperature will rise to the upper teens to low 20s.

The rest of the week, from Wednesday through Friday, will also be sunny with warmer temperatures reaching the 30s to low 40s. Wear sunscreen and enjoy bluebird spring skiing!

The next storm will be weak and should bring a chance for light snow (a dusting to a few inches) from Friday night through Saturday night. Then another storm will move close to or over Colorado from Sunday through Tuesday and this system could also bring a dusting to a few inches of snow. Both of these storms will be warmer, so you will NOT be skiing in frigid temperatures like we’ve seen for the last 36 hours.

Following those two weaker storms, we should have dry weather during the middle of next week, then all weather forecast models are indicating that a stormy pattern should set up over the western US starting around March 16th and that the stormy pattern should continue for at least 5-10 days. This means that significant powder days are possible during the second half of the month.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
