Sunday was mostly cloudy yet we saw no accumulations.

Monday is also starting out mostly cloudy but temperatures are about 10°F warmer and we’ll see dry weather through the day with a high temperature in the upper 20s to low 30s. The forecast challenge on Monday will be the clouds – will they dissipate, leading to sunshine? I’m not sure. The dissipation of the clouds will likely be a process that could take most of the day.

Tuesday will start sunny and should be dry most of the day. Clouds will increase through the afternoon and we could see showers late in the day.

Tuesday night is when a cold front will bring snow and much colder air. Expect a burst of snow when the front moves through around 600pm (ish) and then snow showers through the night and during the day on Wednesday. Total accumulations should be in the 3-6 inch range. Wednesday morning will likely offer the softest turns. Wednesday during the day will be cold with temperatures in the single digits.

Thursday and Friday and Saturday will be dry. While temperatures on Thursday will still be chilly, in the teens to low 20s, temperatures on Friday and Saturday will be warmer and more comfortable with highs around 30°F.

The next chance for snow will be on Sunday, December 27th. Then there’s a good chance for multiple storms during the week of New Years and extending into the first week of 2021. If this active/stormy forecast comes to fruition, we could significantly increase the depth of our snowpack, open a lot more terrain, and enjoy many powder days. Fingers crossed!
