Snow returns Tuesday into Wednesday at Winter Park

Summary

Monday will be the final warm and dry day of this springtime cycle. On Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures will cool and we’ll see light snow.

Short Term Forecast

Sunday was another warm day with on-mountain high temperatures in the 40s and 50s. We saw times of mid-and-high-level clouds throughout the day.

Monday will be the final warm and dry day of this springtime cycle. Expect on-mountain high temperatures in the 40s to low 50s with a mix of sunshine and some clouds drifting by.

Then on Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather pattern will change with cooler temperatures as highs will only reach the 30s. For snowfall, we could see some showers on Tuesday, and then the best chance for accumulating snow will be from Tuesday night through Wednesday midday. We might see 1-4 inches of snowfall during this time, and this snow could produce a little bit of surfy powder on Wednesday morning.

Extended Forecast

Thursday will be dry and sunny with temperatures warming back toward 40 degrees.

Friday should stay dry, but a storm tracking to our north could drop temperatures back into the 30s.

Saturday will also be dry and temperature whiplash will hit again as readings should warm back to around 40 degrees.

Sunday will bring yet another change as a storm or our north could drop temperatures into the 30s and we might see accumulating snowfall.

Looking ahead to next week, April 12-16, the longer-range models are split as to whether or not we see a significant snowstorm. I am keeping an eye on this time as we could sneak out late-season powder days, but the storm is far from a lock.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
