Tracking a storm next week for Winter Park

Summary

Snow showers dropped 1 inch of accumulation on Tuesday night and we’ll see a few showers linger through Wednesday morning. Thursday through Sunday will be mostly dry, then a significant storm is possible next week.

Short Term Forecast

Tuesday brought cooler weather with temperatures in the 20s and 30s and a few snow showers. On Tuesday night, we saw steadier snow which delivered about 1 inch of accumulation at mid-mountain.

Now on Wednesday morning, we should see light snow showers continue through mid-morning, and then the showers should dissipate and give way to drier weather with high temperatures in the upper 20s to mid-30s.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be mostly dry.

Thursday and Saturday will be the warmest days with high temperatures near 40 degrees.

Friday and Sunday will be cooler days with high temperatures in the upper 20s to mid-30s and we might see a few snow showers both days as storms track just to the north of Colorado.

Extended Forecast

We have been keeping an eye on a potential storm during next week, April 12-16, and the latest longer-range models are mostly on board this scenario. I still cannot pinpoint which days could bring the most snow, but it does look likely that we will see snow during multiple days next week and the multi-day snow total could be 6+ inches. This means that there is a chance we will sneak out at least one powder day next week…stay tuned for some potential late-season excitement.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
