Windy on Monday, powder possible on Wednesday morning

Summary

Monday will be dry, warm, and windy. Then snow will arrive on Tuesday and Tuesday night with 6-12 inches possible by Wednesday morning.

Short Term Forecast

Sunday was a warm day with highs in the 40s to low 50s, and winds were gusty in the afternoon reaching speeds of 35-50mph at the summit. Sunday was also closing day for the Winter Park side and now only Mary Jane remains open through Sunday, May 9.

On Monday, we’ll see warm temperatures with highs in the 40s, and the wind will again be gusty during the midday and afternoon with speeds of 40-50mph.

Tuesday will be a transition day with snow showers increasing throughout the day.

Then on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, we should see intense snow over the northeastern mountains and Wednesday morning’s snow totals could be 6-12+ inches. Temperatures will be on the warm side, in the 20s during the snowfall, so the powder quality could be medium to a bit thick, but still, I am keeping an eye on Wednesday morning for potential powder.

Extended Forecast

Showers could continue on Wednesday into Thursday morning with light additional accumulations.

Then we should see dry weather from Thursday to Sunday afternoon with high temperatures in the 40s and 50s.

I will wrap up my daily updates of this Winter Park Daily Snow on Friday, April 30th (unless significant snow returns to the forecast through closing day on May 9).

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
