Sunny for now, some snow on Tuesday

Summary

Sunday and Monday will be sunny and dry. Our best chance for snow will be later Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

Update

The snow forecast is rather lackluster, but the sun forecast is looking good. Enjoy the blue skies and don't forget the sunscreen!

Sunday will be sunny with high temperatures in the 30s.

Monday will also be mostly sunny with a few high clouds filtering the sunshine, gusty winds during the midday and afternoon, and high temperatures in the 20s.

Tuesday should start with dry weather, then we will see the potential for steady snow from later Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. There are some positive factors to this storm (it will move directly over Colorado) and some negative factors (the wind direction won't be ideal, and moisture will be too little for a lot of snow after Wednesday morning).

The bottom line is that we should see 2-5 inches from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning, the new snow should be fluffy due to cool temperatures, and the best chance for soft turns will be on Wednesday morning.

Then on Wednesday and Thursday, the main story will be cold temperatures with highs around 10°F (or colder) each day.

On Friday and Saturday, we should see sunshine and warmer temperatures with highs around 20°F.

Our next chances for snow will be…

  • Around Sunday, February 6th as a weak storm slides across Colorado.

  • The week of February 7-11. There could be another storm during the middle or end of this time period, but my confidence is low.

  • Around Sunday, February 13th. This is far away, but some of the longer-range models are indicating a potentially stronger storm, so there's a chance.

Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!
