Sunshine and some snow in the forecast

Summary

Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday will be dry, then we'll see light-to-moderate snow totals during the middle of the week.

Short Term Forecast

Saturday was dry with some high clouds filtering the sunshine and high temperatures that rose into the low 20s.

Sunday will be a sunnier and warmer day with clear skies all day and high temperatures that rise to the mid-20s. A morning image from the base shows these clear skies, and also, temperatures at the base are a little colder than the rest of the mountain, so dress a little warmer than you might otherwise as you head out.

Monday will be another clear and sunny day with a high temperature around 30 degrees, then Tuesday will bring more high clouds that filter the sunshine with a high temperature in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Our next chance for snow will be between Tuesday night and Thursday morning as a weakening storm wobbles near or across Colorado. A weakening and wobbling storm is not usually a recipe for big snow, but the latest forecast data shows that we might luck out and still see decent snowfall totals with 4-8 inches. The best chance to enjoy some powder will be during the day on Wednesday and also on Thursday morning.

After this midweek snow and some lingering snow showers on Thursday, we'll see dry weather on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with high temperatures in the 20s.

Then the longer-range forecast is looking good with a chance for two storms during the final week of February with one storm around Tuesday, February 22, and another storm around Saturday, February 26.
