Our weekend weather is being influenced by a flow of moisture and weak storm energy from the northwest. On Saturday, this northwest flow delivered about 1 inch of new snow under cloudy skies.

On Sunday, this northwest flow will bring continued cloudy skies and likely little snow accumulation. Then on Sunday night, stronger storm energy within the northwest flow will increase our chance for a little more snow, but the latest forecast models show just light amounts, anything from 1-4 inches of accumulation. I'd still watch the snow stake camera to see if we can sneak out soft turns for Monday morning.

Then Monday and Tuesday will be dry with more clouds on Monday and more sunshine on Tuesday. Temperatures will be comfortable on both days with highs around 30 degrees.

Starting on Tuesday evening, a series of storms will bring snow to Colorado through the end of December and into the first few days of January. What this means for us is still somewhat unclear – the wind direction may not be favorable during each storm, and the track of the storm energy may be a bit too far to the south. We should still see snow during many of the days between Tuesday evening and about January 4th, but I will hold off on discussing the details of snow amounts and potential powder days until there is more certainty about the details of this upcoming storm cycle.
