Some snow on Wednesday

Summary

Tuesday will be dry and breezy, then we'll see a few inches of snow on Wednesday morning with a chance for more snow on Wednesday night.

Update

We currently have limited terrain open (3 lower-mountain trails) and temperatures have only been borderline cold enough for snowmaking. So when will this change?

On Wednesday morning, a weak storm will bring a few hours of snow, and we'll likely see 1-3 inches by Wednesday midday or early afternoon.

Then the second part of the storm on Wednesday evening and Wednesday night might deliver additional snow. Still, uncertainty is VERY high, and snowfall on Wednesday evening and night could really be anything between 0 and 6 additional inches.

There are more ways for things to go wrong with the second part of this storm than for everything to go perfectly, so I expect little to no snow on Wednesday night and I will be thrilled if the atmosphere proves me wrong.

Following the few inches of snow on Wednesday morning and the uncertain amount of snow on Wednesday night, we'll stay chilly through Saturday with decent snowmaking conditions. However, there will be no additional natural snow in the forecast for the next week.

Our next chance for more active weather will start around November 15-17. I am cautiously optimistic that we will have the chance for multiple storms during the second half of November, with the most likely timing of the first significant system around November 17-ish.
