Storm Recap

The latest storm took a while but finally delivered about as much snow as I expected, with a total of 9-10 inches across the mountain. About 6 of these inches accumulated on Tuesday during the day with 1-2 inches on Tuesday night, so there will be soft-ish snow now on Wednesday morning.

Wed (Mar 5)

Wednesday will start with soft snow and a few lingering snow showers, then skies should transition to be partly-to-mostly sunny with a high temperature of around 30°F.

Storm #2 (Thu-Fri)

The second storm of March should deliver snow from Wednesday night to Friday night with a total of 5-10 inches of snow.

I have lower-than-normal confidence in the forecast because the storm will move through in multiple waves, each with its own upside and downside possibilities.

On Wednesday night, a surge of moisture could generate 1-3 inches of snow.

On Thursday, snow showers could bring another 1-3 inches of snow.

On Thursday night and Friday, a more favorable wind direction could generate 2-5 inches of snow.

And on Friday night, snow showers could linger and then should end by Saturday morning.

If things go reasonably according to plan, there could be soft snow on Thursday, Friday, and maybe Saturday morning as well, with a storm total of 5-10 inches. But I am prepared to be surprised on the upside and the downside.

Longer Range

Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (March 8-10) will be dry, with a high temperature in the 20s on Saturday and in the 30s on Sunday and Monday.

Then, there should be a quick-hitter storm around Tuesday and Wednesday (March 11-12), with a stronger and colder storm possible later in the week around Friday to Saturday (March 14-15), and another storm around Wednesday, March 19.
