February 2025 Snowpack Update
The snowpack is in okay shape across the Western US.
Oregon and Northern California continue to outperform regions further inland thanks to several atmospheric river (AR) events. The Northern and Central Rockies are sitting right around normal, while the Southern Rockies have only received light to moderate snowfall events over the past two months.
The map below shows the percentage of snowpack compared to the 1991-2020 median snowpack for February 16, 2025.
Blue is well above normal, green and yellow are near to below normal, and red is well below normal. This map is based on the weight of the snow on the ground, measured by automated backcountry weather stations called SNOTEL.
