The technology behind custom skis

Pete Wagner is the creator of Wagner Custom Skis. In short, he's a genius at customization and a great skier, so he combined his talents and now runs the best custom ski company in the world.

I asked Pete to make me a one-ski quiver. In other words, I wanted one ski that could go backcountry, rip groomers, and float through powder. For the record, I'm not a "gear head". I like good gear, but I don't go out of my way to find the best, latest, and greatest stuff. So honestly, I wasn't sure that custom skis - designed from the ground up based around my exact requirements - would be that big of a deal.

But they are a big deal, in a very subtle way. The best thing I can say about them is that "they just work". I don't have to think about what pair of skis I'm bringing with me, and no matter the conditions, they work perfectly. Plus they look awesome with the custom graphics that I helped to design along side a professional graphic designer.

Here's Pete Wagner explaining the technology behind the skis. And even if you know a lot about ski technology, there are a few tidbits in there that are great to hear from the man himself.
