Enter the High Pressure Dome

Update

At 8am Thursday morning no new snow has fallen overnight with mostly sunny skies over Lone Mountain and a temperature of 19 degrees in the village. For today expect a sunny day with a few nomadic clouds and a high temperature of 36 degrees at 8000’. Winds will be manageable today out of the SW at 10-13mph with gusts up to 25mph on ridge tops and exposed alpine areas.

High-pressure keeps things in the warming mode Friday with clear sunny skies and daytime highs rising to around 42 degrees at 8000’. Moderate SW winds around 20mph will be felt on Friday along the mountain and ridge tops. After a partly sunny morning, clouds slowly increase through the afternoon on Saturday with a slight chance of a rain shower (8000’) and a high of 40 degrees. Snow then develops with the arrival of a cold front Saturday night into Sunday that looks to bring periods of light snow with around 2-5” through last chair Sunday.
