Spring into the Weekend

At 8am Friday morning no new snow has fallen overnight with mostly sunny skies over Lone Mountain and a spring like temperature of 34 degrees in the village. For today expect a sunny day with a few high clouds and a high temperature of 42 degrees at 8000’. Winds out of the S/SW will be increasing through the day at 15-25mph with gusts up to 35mph on ridge tops and exposed alpine areas.

Saturday looks to start off with partly sunny skies before clouds slowly increase into the afternoon hours with a slight chance of snow showers (at 8000’) and a high of 40 degrees. Moderate south winds with gusts up to 40mph are likely on the upper mountain Saturday. Snow is still expected to develop Saturday night with the arrival of a cold front that looks to bring around 2-4” into first chair on Sunday. Periods of snow will continue into Sunday morning with an additional 1-3” possible before the storm starts clearing in the early afternoon hours. Daytime highs on Sunday at 8000’ will be much cooler with a high of 29 expected at 8000’. A mix of clouds and a few flurries look to be the weather for Monday and Tuesday with the sun expected back in force for Wednesday.
