Sunny AM with Increasing Afternoon Clouds

At 8am Saturday morning no new snow has fallen overnight with partly sunny skies over Lone Mountain and a temperature of 29 degrees in the village. For today expect the sun to prevalent through the morning hours with increasing clouds by the early afternoon and a high temperature of 40 degrees at 8000’. Winds out of the South will be increasing through the day to 15-20mph with gusts up to 35mph on ridge tops and exposed alpine areas.

Snow is still expected to develop Saturday night with the arrival of a weak cold front that looks to bring around 1-3” overnight. Snow showers will continue into Sunday morning with an additional inch possible before the system clears out in the afternoon hours. Daytime highs on Sunday (at 8000’) will be cooler with a high of 31 expected at 8000’. A shortwave system will bring in periods of light snow on Monday afternoon into Monday night with 2-4” possible by Tuesday morning. The sun returns back to the forecast, albeit mixed with a few clouds for Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the mid-30’s at 8000’.
