Update

At 8am Thursday morning 2” of new snow fell overnight at the Challenger snow stake with a mix of clouds and sun over Lone Mountain and a temperature of 11 degrees in the village. For today expect it to be mostly sunny with a high temperature of 23 degrees at 8000’. Winds will be light out of the West at around 10mph with gusts up to 20mph on ridge tops and exposed alpine areas.

Friday will generally be a partly sunny day with light winds and a high of 27 at 8000’. Looking ahead our next storm system, a Canadian cold front will encroach into the area on Saturday morning bringing periods of light snow that look to last through the weekend. Projected snow totals of 1-2” on Saturday, 2-4” Saturday night and 3-6” on Sunday are possible. High temps at 8000’ will not be as cold as initially expected with a high of 23 on Saturday and 21 on Sunday.
