Snowy Weekend Ahead

Update

At 8am Friday morning no new snow fell overnight with partly cloudy skies over Lone Mountain and a temperature of 8 degrees in the village. For today expect partly sunny skies into the early afternoon when clouds will be on the increase and a high temperature of 27 degrees at 8000’. Winds will be light out of the SE at around 8mph.

A Canadian cold front will encroach into the area on Saturday morning triggering periods of off and on light snow through the day with snow totals of 1-2” likely. The light snow will continue into Saturday night with another 2-4” possible. A bigger wave of moisture arrives during the day on Sunday bringing moderate snowfall with 3-6” likely by last chair. High temps at 8000’ will not be as cold as initially expected with a high of 28 on Saturday and 25 on Sunday. Looking into next week a mix of sun and clouds on Monday and Tuesday with daytime highs in the low to mid 30’s at 8000’.
