Cold Flurries A Flying

Summary

A westerly flow opens the door for several “mini” storms to enter the region. The first is currently entering SW Montana with possibilities of 2-4” by noon Saturday and the second on Sunday PM/Monday with another 2-4” possible.

Update

Today:

At 7AM Friday it’s 10 degrees in the Village and 10 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). Skies are currently cloudy with snow flurries flying over the upper reaches of Lone Mountain.  

Today expect a December kind of day with overcast skies, snow flurries, and cold daytime temperatures with a high mid-mountain temp of 15 degrees at 8500’. Winds will be light out of the S/SW. Accumulations up to an inch are possible mid-mountain and up.

Saturday and the Extended Forecast:

Friday night snow showers will likely bring another 1-3” to Big Sky so make sure you get out early Saturday morning. Morning snow showers on Saturday may drop another inch or two by noon before clearing out for a partly sunny afternoon. Saturday will be chilly, with a high of 14 at 8500’ with light NW winds. After a cloudy morning with a low of around 10, the next wave of moisture arrives Sunday afternoon. Expect light snow to last into Monday possibly with 2-4” likely. Thanks for reading.
