Morning Flurries then Clearing

Summary

An inch of snow fell last night with snow showers continuing this chilly morning. Expect clearing by noon today and a nice day Sunday before a bigger system moves into the region Sunday evening with chances for 3-6” thru Monday.

Update

Today:

At 7AM Thursday it’s 6 degrees in the Village and 6 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’) where an inch has fallen since yesterday’s post. Snow showers are currently falling.

Today expect clearing by late morning with less than an inch of additional accumulation. So, a mostly cloudy and cold day with some afternoon sunny breaks is in store for Big Sky skiers and boarders today. Chilly temperatures will abound with a mid-mountain high temperature of 14 degrees at 8500’. Winds will be light to moderate out of the N/NW at 10mph with ridge top gusts to 20mph.

Sunday and the Extended Forecast:

Sunday looks to be a mostly cloudy day with flurries developing by mid-afternoon with continued cold daytime temps with high temperatures in the low teens. The next wave of moisture arrives Sunday evening with 1-2” likely overnight.  Light snow continues into Monday with another 2-4” likely. Snow showers continue into Monday night adding an additional few inches to the snow pack. Tuesday looks dry before another round of snow showers starts Wednesday through Friday.
