Sunny Day Blues
Summary
Sunny skies along with cold mornings and warm afternoons is the humdrum forecast through Sunday. The powder repelling condition called high-pressure has found a home in Montana the last 5 days. It happens. By Monday the thing moves out and guess what, there’s a storm system, but it has minimal moisture to work with. Looking at clouds, and a few snow showers. Ullr, where are you?
Update
Today:
At 8:00AM it’s 5 degree in the Village and 12 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. No new snow fell in the past 24-hours. Currently the skies are clear over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite are blowing from the West at 2 mph with a recent gust to 4 mph.
Today expect mostly sunny skies and light winds. High temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) will be around 30 degrees during the afternoon hours. Winds will be blowing lightly out of the N/NW at 4 to 8 mph.
Extended Forecast:
High-pressure will stay strong through Sunday delivering sunny days and cold nights. High temps at 9000’ will be around 30 on Saturday and around 38 on Sunday. Weather models are still favoring the movement of a large trough of low pressure into the region on Monday but at this point it looks like it will bring in mainly clouds with a few scattered snow showers. Clouds with chances of snow showers on Tuesday along with colder daytime temps. The sun returns for a partly sunny Wednesday and Thursday with warming temps as well. Ugghh.
Powder Out –
