Sunny Streak

Summary

High-pressure will establish its dominance over the next 4 days delivering sunny skies along with cold mornings and warm afternoons. The worst thing about high-pressure is that it blocks Pacific systems from entering our region, bumping them either south or north. By Monday, a low-pressure system off the PNW coast looks to push the high-pressure east and bring back cold and unsettled weather.

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 1 degree in the Village and 9 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. No new snow fell in the past 24-hours. Currently the skies are clear over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite are blowing from the N/NW at 2 mph with a recent gust to 3 mph.

Today expect mostly sunny skies and light winds. High temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) will be around 25 degrees during the afternoon hours. Winds will be blowing lightly out of the N/NW at 5 to 10 mph.

Extended Forecast:

High-pressure will stay strong through Sunday delivering sunny days and cold nights.  High temps at 9000’ will be around 30 on Friday and around 32 on Saturday. Weather models are still favoring the movement of a large trough of low pressure into the region on Monday bringing chances of some snow through Tuesday. Details on the tracking of this trough are still inconsistent at this time but none the less, early next week will be colder with snow showers at the least.

Powder Out –
