Another Sunny Sunday

Summary

Sunday will be the warmest day of the recent high-pressure cycle with highs approaching 40 at 9000’. By Monday, high-pressure moves out and clouds move in with afternoon snow showers. Monday night, snow showers increase with a 60% chance of 1 to 3 inches overnight. Tuesday, flurries mostly, with trace amounts to an inch with colder, but seasonal temperatures.

Today:   

At 8:00AM it’s 16 degree in the Village and 22 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. No new snow fell in the past 24-hours. Currently the skies are clear over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite are blowing from the SE at 6 mph with a recent gust to 13 mph.

Today expect mostly sunny skies and light winds. High temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) will be around 38 degrees during the afternoon hours. Winds will be blowing lightly out of the SE 5 to 10 mph.  

Extended Forecast:

A large trough of low pressure moves closer to the region on Monday bringing in mainly clouds with a few scattered snow showers by the afternoon. It will still be fairly warm on Monday with a high of 32 at the 9000’ level. Clouds with chances of snow showers continue for Monday night into Tuesday with 60% chances of 1 to 3 inches along with colder daytime temps in the mid 20’s at 9000’. High-pressure returns for a partly sunny Wednesday, Thursday and Friday along with warming temps as well.
