Super Spring Sunday

Summary

24-hour reported snow totals of 5 inches at both Headwaters and Andesite snow stakes bring the final storm total to 11 inches. Not bad for the first official day of Spring! Look for a sunny Sunday followed by a second storm Monday with chances of around 4 to 8 inches through Tuesday. A third storm is poised for Thursday as well.

Update

Today:

At 8:00AM it’s 20 degree in the Village and 12 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. 5 inches of new snow fell in the past 24-hours of which 2 inches fell overnight. Currently the skies are mostly clear over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite are blowing from the West at 6 mph with a recent gust to 12 mph.

Today expect a mix of sun and clouds with colder daytime temperatures.  Winds will be blowing out of the NW at 10 to 15 mph switching over to the West/SW this afternoon. High temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) will be around 22 degrees.

Extended Forecast:

Clouds and snow showers return Monday as another Pacific storm system brings chances of 4 to 8 inches through Tuesday morning. A brief respite on Wednesday, then another system rolls through Thursday. It appears the skies will dry out heading into the weekend. Rip it up out there.
