Storm Trilogy

Summary

The third storm in a week is still on track to arrive Wednesday night but we’ve moved the heaviest periods of the storm to Thursday night due to timing of the various waves of Pacific moisture on a westerly flow. Details below but storm totals of 4 to 8 inches are likely by Friday morning. Today, enjoy a partly sunny and chilly morning before the clouds roll in.

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 6 degrees in the Village and 11 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. 1 inch of new snow fell in the past 24-hours. Currently the skies are mostly clear with some high clouds over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite are blowing from the NW at 4 mph with a recent gust to 12 mph.

Today expect a mix of sun and clouds in the morning with a mostly cloudy afternoon with chances of late afternoon snow flurries. Winds will be blowing out of the S/SW at 10 to 15 mph with ridgetop gusts to 25 mph. High temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) will be around 21 degrees.

Extended Forecast:

We have slowed the arrival of the next storm system, but light snow is still expected to start Wednesday night with 1 to 2 inches overnight. Light snow continues Thursday with another 1 to 3 inches with the heaviest snowfall expected Thursday night with 3 to 6 inches likely. Skies will mostly clear out for Friday although a few morning residual snow showers are possible. A return to more traditional spring weather with mostly sunny skies and above average temperatures are in store for Saturday and Sunday.
