Sunny Warm and Breezy

Summary

The ridge of high-pressure will be gaining strength today brining a healthy dose of vitamin D along with exceptionally warm temperatures across both mountains of Big Sky. Up at 9000’ a high of 46 and down at 7500 around 52 degrees. South winds will be blowing at 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 25 mph.

Today:                                               

At 7:00AM it’s 16 degrees in the Village and 23 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. No new snow fell in the last 24-hours. Currently the skies are clear over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite are blowing from the SE at 2 mph with a recent gust to 8 mph.

Today, a cold morning will quickly warm with the April sun into a very warm late morning and afternoon. Skies will be sunny all day with high temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) being around 46 degrees. South winds will be blowing 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph across the ridgetops.

Extended Forecast:

Sunny skies with high temps approaching 50 across the upper terrain for Friday and Saturday will keep the spring vibe going strong the next few days. A few afternoon high clouds on Sunday, but otherwise a mostly sunny day will be in store. Snow showers and colder temps return to the forecast early next week with Monday looking the most promising for measurable snowfall.
