Balmy Friday

Summary

A few cirrus clouds have partly obscured the blue skies this morning over Lone Mountain. Air inversions kept temperatures above 8500’ above freezing overnight with Andesite Mountain (8850’) recording a low of 34 degrees. Below 8500’ it did freeze up. The sun will again be strong today but mixed with a few clouds. Temps at 9000’ will approach 50. The weekend looks to stay warm and partly sunny.

At 7:00AM it’s 26 degrees in the Village and 34 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. No new snow fell in the last 24-hours. Currently the skies are partly clear over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite are blowing from the S/SW at 4 mph with a recent gust to 13 mph.

Today, skies will be a mix of sun and high clouds with high temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) reaching around 50 degrees. Southwest winds will be blowing around 10 mph with gusts to 20 mph across the ridgetops.

Extended Forecast:

Mostly sunny skies with high temps at 9000’ approaching 55 degrees on Saturday will keep the spring vibe going strong. Increasing clouds on Sunday will make for a partly sunny/partly cloudy kind of day. Snow showers and colder temps return to the forecast Monday afternoon with only trace amounts likely. Unsettled springlike weather with a mix of sun and clouds and even a few occasional flurries possible Tuesday and Wednesday.
