Warm and Sunny Weekend / Snow Returns Monday

Summary

Saturday looks to be quite similar to Friday with a mix of mostly sun along with very faint high cirrus clouds. Temperatures across the mountain from the Village (7500”) to the Bowl (9500’) will be in the 50’s this afternoon. Another warm and sunny day Sunday before things change on Monday. A developing storm will move in Monday and Monday night bringing chances of around 4 to 8 inches by Tuesday.

At 7:00AM it’s 29 degrees in the Village and 32 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. No new snow fell in the last 24-hours. Currently the skies are partly cloudy over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite are blowing from the West at 2 mph with a recent gust to 10 mph.

Today, skies will be a mix of sun and high clouds with high temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) reaching around 50 degrees. Southwest winds will be blowing around 10 mph with gusts to 20 mph across the ridgetops.

Extended Forecast:

Increasing clouds on Sunday will make for a partly sunny/partly cloudy kind of day. Moderate afternoon W/SW winds with gusts to 30 mph. Snow showers and colder temps return to the forecast Monday afternoon with light amounts of 1 – 3 inches likely. As a low-pressure system splits and moves to the south Monday night, a cold front will be drawn into SW Montana bringing snow that could become heavy at times. Overnight Monday, about a 60% chance of 3 – 5 inches. Snow showers Tuesday could bring a slight chance of another 1 – 3 inches. High temperatures Monday and Tuesday will be in the low to mid 30’s. High-pressure returns Wednesday and Thursday before another storm moves through Friday into the weekend.
