Wednesday

Partly sunny skies and gusty winds will be the story on Wednesday ahead of snow arriving on Wednesday evening. Temps will start in the single digits and rise into the teens to low 20s on the mountain.

Wednesday Night - Thursday

Our next round of snow will then arrive around 7 PM, with snowfall rates quickly ramping up between 8 PM and 12 AM. This storm will provide us with an impressive burst of snow thanks to a strong cold front but our overall snow potential will be limited as very cold air pushes in during the second half of Wednesday night.

In total, I'm going to go with 1-3 inches for Thursday morning's report, followed by a few lingering snow showers throughout the day on Thursday. We usually have a chance for "bonus snow" during the tail end of the storm but it will likely just be too cold in the atmosphere above the mountain to really have efficient snowmaking on Thursday.

Temps will start well below 0F on Thursday morning and they will struggle to get into the single digits. There will also be a brisk wind out of the north so bundle up out there!

Friday - Saturday

Mild temperatures and sunny skies will kick off the upcoming weekend. Expect mid-mountain temps to rise into the upper 20s to low 30s on Friday, followed by a jump well into the 30s on Saturday. Soak in the sun.

Sunday & Beyond

The second half of the upcoming weekend and early next week will feature slightly cooler temps, an increase in cloud coverage, and a slight chance for a few light snow showers on Sunday and into Monday.

We'll then be tracking a stronger storm that will push through the Intermountain West beginning as early as Tuesday night. As of now, the heart of the storm will move through on Wednesday, February 15 and clear out by Thursday, February 16. Plan for soft turns during the middle of next week.

Following another break around February 17-19, the longer-range models are hinting at another chance for storminess around February 20-22. As I mentioned on Tuesday, it will be great news if we can stay in a pattern of at least 1-2 rounds of snowfall per week as we flip the calendar into March.
