Apex in the Flow
Summary
Apex has been the big winner with this storm so far, after picking up 53 cm (21”) in 36 hours. The Vancouver area resorts have also done well with this storm prior to warmer air arriving, while the storm has underperformed for most other areas. Light snow will continue through Wednesday night, mainly across the Southeast Coast Range as well as the Interior. The next storm will arrive on Thursday, and will favor the Okanagan region as winds continue out of the west/northwest, while the overall storm track shifts south. A stronger and more favorable storm will bring more snow from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening with the heaviest amounts expected for southern areas closer to the U.S. border. Cold and dry weather will arrive on Sunday and Monday (February 9th-10th), before the next storm arrives from the north around Tuesday the 11th with another shot of cold air to follow.
