Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Update

On Friday, we saw dry and partly sunny weather. On Friday night, a few bursts of snow brought measurable accumulation, mostly closer to dawn on Saturday.

The official mid-mountain snow report on Saturday morning shows 1 inch, though I see closer to 2 inches on the snow stake cam. All of this snow fell on Friday night and will be freshly available to enjoy on Saturday morning.

On Saturday, we should see snow showers continue with decent accumulations, maybe another 1-3 inches. Temperatures on Saturday will be cold with a high of only about 10°F.

On Sunday, we’ll see a mix of clouds, snow showers, and breaks of sunshine, along with very cold temperatures with a high of about 5-10°F.

Monday and Tuesday should be sunnier and warmer with high temperatures in the 10-20°F range.

Our next chances for snow should be from Wednesday into Thursday and again from Friday into Saturday. Both Thursday and Saturday should be the best bets as the days which will offer fresh snow, though it’s still a bit too soon to discuss how much snow. Stay tuned.

The latest long-range outlook is favorable and shows a stormy pattern for much of the western United States from about January 5th to January 11th (or longer). This gives me optimism that we could see multiple storms during this period, but we won’t be able to figure out the timing or snow amounts of any individual storm until after January 1st or later. Do your snow dance and hope for the best!

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
