Copper Mountain Daily Snow

January 5, 2020 6:59am MST

Saturday was sunny and warm with high temperatures in the 30s. It felt wonderful after the recent cold weather.

Sunday will start sunny then we should see more clouds by late afternoon as a storm approaches. High temperatures will top out in the upper 20s, which is a few degrees cooler compared to Saturday.

From Sunday evening through Monday evening, we’ll see snow showers. The latest forecast models have trended the snow total down a little bit and because of this I’ll lower my forecast to 1-4 inches. Monday will likely not be a big powder day, but it should be a fun day with some new snow.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry.

From Wednesday night through Friday, we should see periods of snow. The storm’s energy will try to split around Colorado, but it should stay together long enough to deliver at least moderate snow totals over 48 hours. Expect some fresh snow both Thursday and Friday and we’ll dial in the details over the next few days.

Friday night and Saturday will be dry and will be just a short lull between storms.

Then we should see a stormy period from Saturday night through at least Thursday, January 16th. These multi-day storm cycles often lead to the best powder conditions though it’s too soon to know the details about snow totals and which days might be best. I’ll remain cautiously excited about the chance for snow on these days and will keep you posted as the forecast models update.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
