Update

Friday brought clouds, a few snow showers, and a high temperature around 15°F. I hope that you enjoyed the soft snow created by the 48-hour storm total of 10 inches!

Saturday will be sunny and warmer with high temperatures likely making it into the 30s.

On Saturday night, a very weak storm could bring a few snow showers, a few clouds, and will likely cool temperatures by a few degrees.

Sunday should deliver a few more clouds compared to Saturday and high temperatures will cool back into the upper 20s.

The next chance for snow will start on Sunday at around sunset and snow should continue through Monday around sunset. I’ll stick with my forecast of 2-5 inches. Monday will likely not be a big powder day, but it should be a fun day with soft turns.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry.

The next storm should deliver snow around Thursday, January 9th. The latest models show that this storm will split with some energy tracking north and south of Colorado. A splitting storm usually does not produce a lot of snow, so I’ll keep my expectations to just a few inches and will dial in the details over the next few days.

Looking ahead, the period from Sunday, January 12 to Sunday, January 19 should bring two or three storms close to or over Colorado. I am excited about this stormy period but we’ll need to wait at least another few days to see if the storm tracks will bring small, medium, or large amounts of snow. It’s just too soon to know.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
