Copper Mountain Daily Snow
By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 4 years ago January 8, 2020
Update
Wednesday will be our final fully dry day for about one week. Enjoy the comfortable temperatures in the 20s to low 30s and the sunshine (which will be mixed with some high-and-mid-level clouds).
The next storm will bring light snow from Wednesday night through Friday. We should see a few inches on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, then more snow should fall from Thursday midday or afternoon through Friday. Of the two days, I like Friday as the day that could offer the softest snow. I’ll lower my snow forecast a bit to 3-6 inches based on the latest models staying more conservative.
Friday evening through Saturday morning will be dry.
Then we will see waves of snow from Saturday midday through Wednesday with 6-12+ inches of accumulation. Based on the timing of these waves, conditions should get progressively softer on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Then with the most intense snow will likely fall from later Tuesday into Wednesday, and the deepest powder should be on Wednesday morning, January 15th.
After that, we’ll likely see about 24 hours of very cold temperatures (below 0°F) from later Wednesday through Thursday, then temperatures should warm to be more comfortable with additional snow possible sometime around the weekend of January 18-19th.
