Update

Friday morning softness!

Following the 1 inch on Thursday morning and dry weather through the day on Thursday, we were expecting more snow on Thursday night with maybe 1-3 inches.

The official report from Thursday night is 1 new inch of snow at mid-mountain. While this is a low amount, every inch counts and this should make for another fun morning with soft snow on the groomers.

For the rest of Friday, we should see a few on-and-off showers with light accumulations.

Friday night through Saturday morning will be dry.

Then get ready because we’ll see snow for the better part of four days starting on Saturday midday/afternoon and culminating on Wednesday morning.

The best chances for soft snow during this stretch should be Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday. I have lower confidence in snow amounts and the powder quality on Sunday and Monday and high confidence that Wednesday should be a fun powder day with a soft base and a lot of snow falling on Tuesday night into Wednesday.

The wind direction during this storm cycle will be from the west and southwest, and this is not favorable for big snow totals. But the consistency of the snow over four days should make up for the negative wind direction and we should enjoy fun conditions.

After that, we’ll likely see dry weather from Wednesday night through Thursday with another storm on Friday into Saturday. Keep your eye on Friday or Saturday (January 17-18) as potential powder days.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
