Monday was warm and dry for most of the day with just a quick round of snow showers (and no accumulation) during the afternoon.

Today on Tuesday we’ll see our final day of springlike weather with high temperatures rising into the upper 30s to low 40s.

From Tuesday night through Friday, high temperatures will drop back down into the 20s and we will see chances for snow as multiple rounds of snow showers track from the southwest to the northeast across Colorado. A wind direction from the southwest is not favorable for big snow totals, but each round of snow showers could drop a coating to a few inches of snow. These showers are most likely on Tuesday night, Wednesday afternoon, and Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.

From Friday night through Saturday night, a powerful storm will track through southeastern Colorado and will bring a lot of snow to other parts of the state including the Denver area, but will likely not bring much snow here because a wind from the east is not favorable. Still, the storm will be so strong that some snow will likely make it from the eastern part of the state all the way to Copper, so we could see a few inches of accumulation on Saturday even with the unfavorable wind direction. 

From Saturday late night through Monday, as the strong storm moves away to the east, the counter-clockwise rotation around the storm means that our wind direction will change to blow from the west and northwest which is more favorable for us, and this could be when we see steadier snow and potential powder.

The beginning and middle of next week, March 15-17, should be chilly with a good chance for snow and potential powder thanks to a storm that should track into Colorado from the northwest.

After March 17, I have no idea what the weather will be and we’ll tackle the longer-range forecast once we get through the stormy seven-day period coming up.
