Idaho Daily Snow
By Steve Stuebner, Forecaster Posted 4 years ago March 6, 2020
Bluebird conditions at S. Idaho ski areas Friday; New storm system bringing substantial snow Friday night/Saturday
Summary
Sunshine and spring-like temperatures will prevail Friday at Southern Idaho's ski areas with afternoon high temperatures in the mid-40s in most locations and 50 degrees at Bogus Basin and Pomerelle! Time your arrival to allow the snow to soften up for the best skiing/riding. A new storm system is moving into North Idaho resorts on Friday, but a rain/snow wintry mix is forecast as temperatures and snow levels fall during the day. The best chance of snow at N. Idaho resorts will be Friday night/Saturday, bringing the potential for 5-9 inches at Schweitzer, 3-6 at Silver and 1-3 at Lookout Pass by Saturday night. Brundage Mountain is expected to get 1-3 inches out of that system, Tamarack and Sun Valley 1 inch, and Bogus Basin a wintry mix as temperatures cool during the day. South of the Snake River, there's a powder surprise! Pomerelle, Magic and Pebble Creek are now expected to get significant quantities of snow out of that storm system with 3-5 inches forecast at Pomerelle Saturday night, 3-5 Sunday night, and 3-5 Monday for a total of 9-15 inches! Three to 9 inches are forecast at Pebble Creek through Monday, and Magic will fall somewhere in between. Sunshine follows the storm system on Sunday in most locations.
