In the flow

Summary

Many Collective destinations will be "in the flow" over the next 10+ days as multiple storms line up for the Western US. After a slow start to the season, the second half is shaping up to be quite a party.

Have we mentioned that Jackson Hole is getting absolutely hammered? Well, if you didn't catch last week's update, the Tetons were favored during the first 10 days of February and the forecast did not disappoint.

Jackson Hole has picked up 68 inches since February 3rd and the conditions are DEEP...

Even better news? It will only get deeper over the next week as a train of storms targets the Intermountain West, along with a healthy refresh for Squaw Alpine and Mammoth.

Beginning on Thursday (2/11), a funnel of moisture will slam into the Western US and first deliver upwards of a foot to California. The train will then push further east and deliver 1-2 FEET to Jackson Hole, Grand Targhee, and Alta/Snowbird as we head into the weekend (2/13-14).

My choice would be Grand Targhee on Friday (2/12), followed by Alta/Snowbird on Saturday (2/13). The wildcards will be Aspen Snowmass through Sunday (2/14), along with Taos Ski Valley.

You really can't go wrong with any of the great Collective destinations but resort reservations will fill up fast. Plan ahead and make it happen.

Extended Forecast

Looking ahead to the week of February 15th, the storm train will continue to target the Intermountain West over Presidents Day and into Tuesday, February 16th. All of the areas listed above will be in the catcher's mitt for deep totals as colder air sags down from the north.

This trend should then continue as we head into the second half of February. It's been a crazy winter and I think Old Man Winter was just waiting for the right time to deliver the goods.

As always, stay up-to-date with our team of local forecasters. They will provide you with excellent local analysis and really help you dial in the details with updates every morning.
