Reminder: This season is starting with a lower snowpack compared to last season, so there are only a handful of trails open at the moment. The current storm should help mountain crews to open (a lot) more terrain over the coming days.

Sunday was a stormy day with gusty winds and intense snow at times.

The mid-mountain snow stake showed 3 inches of snow in the morning and 5 inches of snow on Sunday night for a total of 8 inches, and the official measurement (which likely was taken in a more wind-protected area) showed a total of 13 inches.

The total snowfall from Thursday through Monday was 24 inches on the mid-mountain snow stake, and was 33 inches officially, based on more wind-protected measurements.

Monday is when the storm will be winding down, though we'll still see some clouds, snow showers, and occasionally gusty winds stick around. Temperatures will be in the 20s.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be dry and mostly sunny with high temperatures in the 30s. I am hopeful that there will be more terrain open by the middle of the week.

Friday and Saturday are when we will see the next chance for snow. I'll stick with my early estimate for 4-8 inches of snow during this time, with perhaps softer riding conditions on Friday afternoon and/or Saturday morning. Temperatures on Friday will be in the teens, and temperatures on Saturday will be colder, perhaps in the single digits.
