Update

If you’re in Steamboat for Spring Break, then you’ve nailed the timing because it doesn’t get more spring break-y than this current weather pattern! Under full sunshine on Saturday, the high temperature on the mountain rose to the upper 40s, and in town readings were near 70F! Look for similar weather on Sunday and Monday with mostly sunny skies and a few times of dimmer sunshine when high clouds may filter the sun.

On Monday night we might see a brief shower of rain and snow, but this shouldn’t be a big deal.

Following dry weather on Tuesday, Wednesday should be cloudier with the threat of a shower, and then we’ll see snow from late Wednesday night through Friday morning. I think total snowfall should be at least 3-6 inches, and it could be much more, though there is still a lot of uncertainty in the forecast. There should be soft turns on Thursday, and we might have deeper powder on Friday if things come together just right.

Following the storm, Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon will be dry, then the next storm should bring snow from Saturday night through early the following week.
