Update

The next storm is moving in our direction, but unfortunately, it is going to take a similar path to the previous storm and dive well south toward New Mexico. Storms that take this southerly track usually do not bring much snow to Steamboat. That is because these storms bring winds from the east, while the best wind direction for Steamboat is a wind from the west and northwest.

With that background behind us, I expect a few snow showers on Thursday night, Friday, and Friday night, with a few inches of snow if we’re lucky. Also, we could see gusty winds on Friday evening and Saturday.

Following this storm, Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon should be dry, then the next storm should bring snow from Monday midday through Tuesday night. This storm will be colder and will bring winds from the west and northwest, so there is a good chance of deeper snow accumulations and a powder day on Tuesday. Stay tuned!
