Update

On Friday morning, a powerful storm is spinning over northern Arizona. This southern storm track is not favorable for Steamboat because it brings a wind from the east, and Steamboat gets the most snow when the wind blows from the west and northwest. Because the wind direction is not ideal, I think we will see only light amounts of snow from this system with the best chance later on Friday afternoon and evening.

Saturday should be a lull in the snow, then we might see more clouds and snow showers Saturday night, Sunday, and Monday as the wind switches to blow from the west and northwest.

The next storm should bring heavier snow sometime between Monday night and Wednesday morning with colder temperatures and a wind from the west and northwest. This could translate to a powder day on Tuesday or Wednesday morning if we’re lucky.

After that system, one or two additional storms should hit Colorado between April 8-12.
