Weak Storms thru Monday, Stronger Storms Possible Tuesday - Friday...
Summary
- Friday we have brief ridging with sunny skies and highs in the 30s on the upper mountains and 40s at lake level. Winds are light in the morning and increasing Friday evening. - Friday night into Saturday another weak system moves through with snow showers ending Saturday evening. This one could drop a dusting to an inch on the east side of the lake, and 1-3 inches on the west side. Highs in the 20s on the mountains and 30s at lake level. Ridgetop winds to 70+ mph Saturday morning and coming down to 50+ mph in the afternoon. Some upper mountain lift closures likely in the morning. - We could see a break Sunday during the day but cold with winds gusting to 40+ mph over the ridges. Then by Sunday evening, the next weak system could move in with snow showers Sunday night into Monday. This system could bring another dusting up to an inch or two. It stays cold into Monday but ridgetop wind gusts could increase to 50+ mph. - A wetter system moves in Monday night into Tuesday. The forecast models have been trending wetter each run. We could see 1-2 feet of snow with this storm if the current forecast holds. - We could see a break Wednesday before a stronger storm is possible next Thursday - Friday. If the current forecast holds we could see significant snowfall from this storm. - A drier pattern may begin to build in for MLK weekend and continue through the week of the 20th. That doesn't mean a weakened storm couldn't push in.
