Sloppy...

Summary

High clouds and mild today with highs in the 50's. Tonight into Thursday we should see light rain showers with snow levels falling to around 9,000 feet. Scattered showers could continue into Thursday night. Friday into Friday night a second wave of precipitation will bring more rain and snow into Saturday morning. This time snow levels could start around 8,000 feet and fall to around 7,000 feet by Saturday morning. We could see 1-3 inches of snow above 8,000 feet. High temperatures will fall into the 30's on the upper mountains, and 40's at the lower levels. Ridge top winds could gust to 40 mph on Thursday and 50+ mph on Friday. We may have a break Saturday night into Sunday with just clouds and the chance of a stray shower with highs in the 30's on the upper mountains and 40's at the bases and lake level. We could see a wetter storm for next week in the Monday night to Wednesday time frame. This storm could also have falling snow levels with snow to the lower elevations. High pressure may build in later next week and into the weekend of the 13th, bringing back a drier pattern. But it may not last long as we may head right back into a wetter pattern the 3rd week of January.
