US and Canada Daily Snow

Slow-moving storm will hit California & the Rockies while a Nor’ Easter hits New England
Summary
Just like earlier in March, both coasts are going to see action this week. Yet another Nor’ Easter will bring snow to New England, and a series of storms will also bring snow to the west coast and Rockies, with California likely grabbing the deepest totals.
Short Term Forecast
Mountains which have already received hefty snow amounts during early March will receive even more snow this week.
Looking at the forecast for Monday and Tuesday, March 12-13, we see 6+ inch amounts possible over northern and eastern New England from yet another Nor’ Easter that will track along the coast. If this storm tracks further away from land, snow amounts will decline, and vice versa. Also, on the other side of the country, you’ll see snow just creeping into the picture for Oregon and California on Tuesday afternoon.
The forecast for the rest of this week and the weekend, Wednesday, March 14 to Sunday, March 18, shows the same areas getting even more snow. In northern New England, the Nor’ Easter from earlier in the week could stall and bring additional snow. And the series of storms along the west coast will work inland through the interior Rockies, bringing snow to most mountain areas of the west.
The best chance to ski powder in New England should be Tuesday and Wednesday. In the west, California should have powder from Wednesday through Saturday, and the rest of the Rockies could see powder on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Since the storm is moving slowly, I might target the later of these days just in case the forecast shows that the storm will slow down even more.
Extended Forecast
Looking to the following week, from Monday, March 19th through Friday, March 23rd, we see below average temperatures forecast for the west coast and Rockies as well as the northeast.
This is a strong hint that we might see a continuation of the current pattern with more powder in the west and New England. If this happens, it would be the perfect cap to a very snowy March!
