Western Storms will Continue!

Summary

The weather pattern will solidly favor the western United States and Canada with multiple storms on the horizon. Snow totals will be 1-5 FEET and we should be riding powder through at least mid-February.

Short Term Forecast

Forecast for This Week (Feb 4-8)

The story being told by the weather map below is a good one – snow for most of the western US and Canada during the next five days. The storm responsible for this snow will take it’s time moving across North America, with another few feet of snow along the west coast early in the week and then powder moving to the Rockies by the middle of the week.

Forecast for The Weekend (Feb 9-10)

While there might be a break in the snow over the west during the very end of the week, a new storm should come ashore over the weekend, first hitting the west coast and then likely getting to the rest of the west early the following week.

Extended Forecast

The Outlook for February 11-15

When we look at the temperature forecast from the average of multiple model versions, the signal is VERY clear that the western US and Canada will remain cool and stormy through the middle of February. We cannot reliably predict individual storms 10-15 days away, though it’s highly likely there will be plenty of snow to enjoy 6-10 days from now, so keep your travel plans open and get ready to chase more powder!

Thanks for reading and look for the next forecast on Thursday, February 7.
