Cold powder for the west this week & weekend

Summary

A powerful and cold storm will drop 1-2 FEET of snow on the west coast and the Rockies during the week, and there will be more powder for the upcoming weekend as well!

Short Term Forecast

The Forecast for Monday 4/8 – Tuesday 4/9

The beginning of the week will see action in the corners of the United States and Canada with 6-12+ inches of snow over the northwest and the northern Rockies on Monday and Tuesday, along with 4-8 inches for far northeastern New England.

The Forecast for Wednesday 4/10– Thursday 4/11

The best powder days in the Rockies this week should be on Wednesday and Thursday. Montana, Utah, and Colorado will see 8-16 inches of snow, with up to or just over 2 feet in a few spots.

The Forecast for Friday 4/12– Sunday 4/14

It’s not over! Looking ahead to Friday and the weekend, one storm will take a southwestern track and should deliver powder to Arizona, southern Colorado, and New Mexico. Also, another system could bring snow back to the west coast, from California northward to Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia.

Extended Forecast

The Outlook for Monday 4/15 – Friday 4/19

As we head deeper into April, the chances decrease for COLD powder, though the chances for snow will continue, especially across the northwest, northern Rockies, and the central Rockies.

Thanks for reading and look for the next forecast on Thursday, April 11.
