US and Canada Daily Snow
By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 7 years ago March 2, 2017
Northwest, northwest, northwest!
Summary
The weather pattern through the first 7-10 days of March will bring snow to the northwest nearly every day. Usually in these scenarios, the temperature is an issue, but for the next 10 days, the temperature will be cold enough so that snow levels will be near or below most mountain bases. Lots of powder days coming up!
Short Term Forecast
Let’s get right to the maps.
The snow forecast from March 2-5 (Thursday through Sunday) shows lots of snow for British Columbia, Alberta, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and even northern California.
And this is just the start.
The forecast for March 6-10 shows a continuation of the snowfall for the same area, with some flakes also sneaking into Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado.
If you’re looking for many powder days in a row with few snow level issues, the northwest should be your destination!
Extended Forecast
The temperature outlook for March 11-16 shows a continuation of cooler-than-average temperatures in the northwest.
While the details of 10-15 day outlooks are not always accurate, the trend in the forecast is usually reliable, so I feel pretty good that the northwest will continue to see consistent snowfall and that some snow could push further east toward the interior Rockies.
