Winter Park Daily Snow

Snow Friday and Saturday at Winter Park
Summary
Snow should fall between Friday morning and Saturday morning, then another storm will bring snow on Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.
Short Term Forecast
On Wednesday we saw 1 inch of accumulation, then on Wednesday night, an additional 1 inch of snow fell at mid-mountain. It’s not much, but we’ll take the flakes!
Today on Thursday, I expect partly sunny skies and little or no snowfall for most of the day.
Then between Thursday late night or Friday morning to Saturday morning, we’ll have a high chance for snow and accumulations should be at 5-10 inches. If the snow comes to fruition, conditions could be soft on Friday and perhaps be deepest on Saturday morning.
On Saturday, snow should wind down during the morning, it should stop during the midday, then snow should ramp back up on Saturday afternoon and Saturday night as the next storm moves in.
On Saturday night, even though the wind direction will not be favorable, enough storm energy could hang around to create at least a few inches of snow.
Then on Sunday, frigid air will push in with temperatures on either side of 0°F, and we’ll likely see an end to the snowfall.
On Monday, temperatures will be cold in the morning, then the cold air will move away during the afternoon and the next storm should bring more snow from Monday night through Wednesday with flakes possibly sticking around into Thursday.
Extended Forecast
Around Friday, February 19th is when we could see a break in the snowfall.
Then another storm will likely bring flakes back to northern Colorado around Sunday to Monday, February 21-22.
After that, I am not sure what will happen (we could see more storms, or dry high pressure might nose in from the west). Let’s enjoy the snow during the coming 7-10 days and we’ll figure out the longer-range forecast eventually.
Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
